Back at the start of January this year, Dish announced a new product—Sling TV. Their aim was to give cord cutters (or would-be cord cutters) an option to have live TV channels without having to subscribe to a traditional TV package through their cable or satellite provider.
To get the main feeling of this article out of the way right at the start, let me just say that Sling TV is a very good first foray into internet live TV. There are downsides, which I will go into detail about below.
I have been a Mint.com user for many years. I wouldn’t say that I had a budgeting problem, but I have always been addicted to statistics, and being able to see all of my financial information in front of me was, and still is, very appealing.
You Need A Budget, referred to as YNAB from here on out, was something I frequently saw mentioned online when discussing budgeting strategies. As an obsessive spreadsheet user, I dismissed it over the years mainly because of the price. I told myself that I could just make my own spreadsheet if I really wanted to budget in the way that YNAB promotes. And truthfully, it could probably be done with some time; though the final result wouldn’t look as polished. In fact, YNAB actually started out as a spreadsheet.
Supports each platform’s respective achievement/leaderboard features (Google Play Games, Game Center, Game Circle).
Drop supplies to passing ships; catch as many packages as you can!
-Google Play Games Achievements and Leaderboards (Game Center and GameCircle support for iOS/Kindle).
-Immersive Mode support for devices with on-screen buttons running Android KitKat or higher.
Multiple Game Modes:
Choose between 25 / 50 / 100 drops, or go for a record streak with Infinite Mode.
The goal of Supply Drop is to drop packages onto passing ships. Touch anywhere on the screen to drop a package, it will reload a short time after on its own.
You want the package to land in the caged/fenced area on the back of the ship. If the package hits the other packages the ship is carrying, it will explode and you will not receive a point and your streak will reset; this will also happen if your package lands in the water.
In the 25 / 50 / 100 Game Modes, you have those amounts of packages to drop, as well as those amounts of boats to drop them on to. So, if you don’t attempt to drop a package on every boat you will have extra packages left over when the round ends. In short…try to drop a package on every boat!
In the Infinite Game Mode, if you let a boat pass by without attempting to drop a package onto it, or if you miss your drop, you lose one of your “allowed misses”. The next miss after all “allowed misses” are exhausted will end the round. Go for the highest streak!
If you have any issues with the game, or think something isn’t working properly, please contact me at email@example.com and I will look into it as soon as possible.
Got yourself a brand new phone? Just want to check the integrity of your broken-in phone?
If you’re like me, one of the first things to do is make sure that all of your pixels are firing correctly!
This is a simple app that allows you to swipe between solid colors to test for dead and/or stuck pixels. With the high resolution of screens today, the chances are even higher that one of those tiny pixels isn’t working right. If you find a bad one, go ask for a replacement phone!
Texting, messaging, SMS. All names for arguably the most common way people keep in touch with each other nowadays.
Traditionally, carrier SMS (short message service) has been the dominant messaging platform for mobile users. It actually has a few benefits that more modern messaging services have yet to match:
Available to anyone with a mobile phone, even if it’s not a smartphone
Does not require a data plan (again, mostly beneficial to those without a smartphone)
Peace of mind—you can know that if you send a message to someone, they have the capabilities to receive it, and will (unless they specifically have SMS blocked through their carrier)
Those are pretty important advantages, but since consumers are flocking to smartphones en masse, the options have opened up and alternate services have come in to offer a better experience and more features.
